Well, I'm back now. Seems we had a white Christmas again this year - though usually the snows hit in January, it seemed as if Mother Nature wasn't feeling as patient this time - the storms went all the way down to New York as well, burying the west side of the state in over a foot of snow. Between about 5 and 6 in the afternoon, here in Auckland, New Zealand, we experienced a solar eclipse. Suffice to say, it was a pretty pathetic excuse for one, barely covering perhaps a third of the sun. Probably shouldn't have bothered to watch it, but I've never seen one before, so I decided that it was time.
